Another of the most interesting festivals in Sienese Chianti, with a great food & wine offer concluding with the famous dinner in the village square and the awarding of the plaque honoring Silvio Gigli (who ideated and for years emceed the festival) to entertainment celebrities.

A traditional festival, one of the most interesting in Sienese Chianti for its great food & wine; a torchlight parade commemorates the historic Battle of Monteaperti.

Samplings of wine and local food specialties, handicraft mart, entertainment.

Performances in ottava rima originating from ancient traditions, a form of song and theatricals typical of the world of farmers, artisans and other inhabitants of rural areas.

The event, organized by the “Persisters” association in cooperation with the town council, is aimed getting everyone involved, young and old, following the formula redevised in 2010 when the traditional festival returned to enlivening the Castelnuovo summer after a thirteen-year hiatus:
