Of the more than 1,200 hectares of the Castello di Brolio estate – almost all of which are in Gaiole in Chianti – approximately 250 are dedicated to vine cultivation and include variations in soil types, altitude and exposure to the sun. Other red grape varietals present on the estate are Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Canaiolo, while the white grapes include Chardonnay and Malvasia del Chianti, the latter being used in the production of Vin Santo.
