The historical origins of Castello Vicchiomaggio can be traced to the 5th century, its present name and form being taken during the reinassance. Wine has always been produced on the estate and the present owners, John & Paola matta, are dedicated to maintaining this tradition started centuries ago. Several styles of wine are produced, ranging from the traditional to the innovative. To achieve this the estate’s land has been rigorously classified according to soil type and exposition, and all wines carry their vineyard name.
